What we collect
We do not collect, store on any server, sell, or share any personal information. Neither app requires an account, and neither app contains advertising or analytics. There is nothing to opt out of because nothing leaves your device.
Location
Both apps use your device’s location (GPS, and in CarSpeed by WebSmartTeam, your vehicle’s speed sensor where available) only to calculate and display your current speed, maximum speed, average speed, and trip distance. That information is processed on your device and stays on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
CarSpeed by WebSmartTeam runs a foreground service while you are driving so speed tracking can continue with the app in the foreground; this is shown by an ongoing notification you can see and dismiss by stopping the trip.
Permissions used
- Precise and approximate location: to measure speed and distance.
- Foreground service (CarSpeed by WebSmartTeam): to keep tracking during a drive.
- Notifications (CarSpeed by WebSmartTeam): to show the ongoing tracking status.
- Wake lock: to keep the screen on while driving, as the apps are designed to be glanced at on the road.
No permission is used for any purpose other than the driving-speed features described above.
Third parties
Neither app sends data to third-party services. Standard Google Play services on your device (for example, app installation and licence checks) are governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
Children
Both apps are intended for adults (18 and over) because they are driving tools. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same link, with the date below updated.
